Eva Halland is a geologist educated from the University of Bergen and has 38 years of experience in offshore petroleum and CCUS. She worked with the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) until July 2022 and is now an independent as Managing director of CarbonGeo Consulting and project leader of transport and storage of CCS in the member organization CCUS Norway.
She has held various positions in the NPD and was a member of the management team from 1991 to 2009, was the project leader for the “CO2 Storage Atlas of the Norwegian Continental Shelf” and chair of the Norwegian “CO2 Storage Forum”. From 2011-2022, she led the collaboration (FORCE) between oil, gas, and energy companies in Norway and the authorities with the aim of improving exploration, production, and the environment.
Eva has contributed and advised in several CCUS projects and studies around the world, is an advisor to the EU Commission and the World Bank Trust Fund, and is a member of the South African Pilot CO2 Storage Project International Advisory Committee. She lectures in CCUS at universities, has contributed to educational books and articles on CCS, given presentations and courses around the world, and has participated in the Advisory Board for several of the EU's R&D projects on CO2 offshore storage and monitoring. She is deputy chair of CLIMIT, the Norwegian RD&D program for CCUS, and a Board member of NORSAR.
