E&P companies can lower corporate-level carbon footprint by targeting depleted oil and gas fields for CO2 storage or EOR while creating additional value in the process. This presentation highlights an integrated framework for emission estimation, production forecasting and economic analysis for lower carbon oil field development optimization and achieving emission reduction goals. Application of the framework to a depleted oil reservoir demonstrates the existing opportunities to utilize subsurface pore space for value creation and emission reduction.
