Joe Hill is a business executive with more than 20 years of experience in the Oil and Gas Industry. He has a wide breath of knowledge as he has held various positions in IT, Logistics, Project Management, Sales, Manufacturing, Finance, Supply Chain, Field Operations, New Business Development and Energy Transition. Working across many different functions, has allowed Joe to become a champion for innovation and change management.
In January of 2021, Joe was chosen to launch and accelerate Vallourec North America’s ambition to lead in the Energy Transition space and was promoted to Senior Director of Vallourec® New Energies and New Business Development. In addition to Energy Transition, he is also leading efforts to expand business opportunities in adjacent as well as disruptive markets by leveraging investment and M&As.
Joe has won several awards during his tenure including three Global Innovation Awards and one for new product development. He has co-authored technical papers including one around high fatigue mechanical connectors and one focusing on the economics of baseload, geothermal energy in the US. Recently, he played an integral role in Vallourec’s major investment in a California based geothermal start-up.
Joe serves on the Energy Transition Chapter of The Energy Workforce & Technology Council and is an inaugural member of the Texas Geothermal Energy Alliance. He is also on the University of Houston’s Industry Advisory Board. He earned his BBA from Sam Houston State and an MBA from Tulane University in New Orleans.
