Description
Planckton Data is a tech startup focused on helping organizations achieve net-zero carbon emissions. To mitigate the impacts of greenhouse gases (GHG), the first step is to measure them accurately, close to the source and in real time. Monitoring business activities and leveraging that data to make operational improvements allows companies chart their best pathway to net-zero. Our technology platform and services utilize data and digital capabilities that offer insights into an organization’s carbon footprint and, more importantly, highlight opportunities to act. The Planckton platform also provides robust and automated reporting and compliance programs aligned with regulations and guidelines. While our initial focus is on the natural resources sector (Oil & Gas, Mining and Chemicals), we plan to expand into other relevant sectors, including Waste Management, Utilities and Construction.
Planckton offers:
• Business process aligned GHG inventory and actions portfolio
• Advanced modeling capabilities leveraging data to optimization paths to net zero
• Data management services focused on for GHG measurement and accounting
• Automation and IT/OT integration with machine-measured data
• Adoption of global accounting frameworks like GHG Protocol open-source data model for data interoperability
• Extensive calculation engine capable of handling industry and region-specific requirements
• Automated management of vast libraries for emission factors and reference data
• Taking GHG data beyond reporting into operational use cases
