Riad Efendi graduated from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology with B.S. in Chemical Engineering and Ph.D. in Biophysics. After military training with Ballistic Missile Strategic Force, and faculty tenure at the University of Texas Medical School, he joined Technip/TechnipFMC in 2012. At this company, he is credited with leading of creation, rollout and certification of HSE Management System and implementation of QHSE Digital Solution.

For his accomplishments, he has accumulated several professional awards and recognitions, including

• American Society of Safety Professionals Safety Management Innovation award,

• Technip top annual Franquelin award, and

• Offshore Technology Conference Emerging Leader recognition “for key contributions to the offshore energy sector in his field of work, service to the industry, innovation, and focus on safety.”

Riad is a sought-after speaker at national and international professional meetings on safety, sustainability, digitalization, corporate culture and leadership, most recently at

• ASSP Safety ’21 and ’22,

• BCSP Global Learning Summit ’22 and Research & Innovation Summit ’23,

• Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) ’21 and ’22,

Riad also serves as a Board member and VP at Houston-Baku Sister City Association. He enjoys playing volleyball and bridge, traveling the world, reading poetry, and writing prose.
